Minneapolis, MN (August 10, 2006): A ground-breaking digital
music service from Spanish media giant, Televisa (Grupo Televisa,
S.A.), was released today. The service includes a full-featured
media software player called Esmas Player (www.esmasplayer.com).
This application, built by J. River, allows Televisa’s Tarabu
service (www.tarabu.com)
to offer single-click music downloads, CD and DVD burning, library
management, portable device synchronization, and many other
features. Today the service is targeted at Spanish-speaking music
fans in Mexico, but it will be rolled out to the US market soon. The
PC based service includes streaming samples and paid downloads for
over 420,000 tracks. Video on demand will be supported in the near
future. To try the new player and the music, visit www.tarabu.com.
The Esmas Player uses Windows Digital Rights Management (DRM), and
customers can play their purchased tracks on their PC’s or transfer
them to PlaysForSure™ devices. J. River’s media player technology
allows customers to organize music and video files, manage playlists,
and rip and burn CD’s.
“We are delighted to be part of this project,” said Peter Sohal,
J. River VP of Marketing. “If you want to talk to the
Spanish-speaking world, you must first speak to Televisa. Spanish
speakers are an important market, and we now have an opportunity to
provide the music they want, and a great user experience for
managing and playing their tracks.”
